A Queensland premiere, Mr. Burns, a post-electric play by Anne Washburn, is an imaginative comedy that propels us forward in an intoxicating and sobering vision of an American future. After society collapses, a group of survivors gather around a campfire and begin to retell the plot of “Cape Fear,” from the comical TV show, The Simpsons. Through this breadth of imagination, “we are reminded of how ordinary life can seem in moments of extraordinary crisis, of how horror creates its own quotidian routine.” - New York Times, 2013

This production of Mr. Burns, a post-electric play is presented by the QUT School of Creative Practice. This production features third-year QUT Acting students with creative, technical and marketing by third-year Technical Production, Drama and Visual Arts students. These students received mentorship from industry professionals Matt Scholten, Ray Milner, Glenn Hughes, Dan Black, Andrea Moor, David Megarrity, Bridget Boyle and Carly O’Neill.
